The Journey of Soldering on Megadrum

Megadrum, You’d be better to worth it for my back pain.

I finally finished all soldiering on my Megadrum kit. I was nervous as hell: so many fingers burned, sweated, and I was in pain. I finally finished all soldering.

Damn, I almost cried. I only had a solder gun. I didn’t have the clamp to hold those little audio jacks. Because those are tiny, I had to use the light hook wires to connect each other. As they are all from the panel controller cable bunch, whenever I solder the cable from the jack, another jack tangled, and sometimes wires break. It was challenging to hold those tiny jacks while grabbing the iron string and solder gun to melt them down together.

My fingertips were cooked, my back was sore, and my eyes dried. Soldering was indeed challenging.

This is how I soldered all inputs towards the Megadrum panel

The number aligns with the Megadrum manual’s datasheet.

As Megadrum has only two ground ports, I decided to use one of them and connect jacks to each other on the ground link.

If I realllllly wanted to go crazy, Yes - you can connect as much as you want…but for now, I will use from 16 port to 40 port…Damn, my spine hurts.

From the low-impedance hihat pedal to the aux 2 jack, this is how I soldered them all.
